This was a wonderful event, and the best send off I could want! Thanks to Jenn Hill for the pictures, and thanks to all of you for doing such great work.

This garden was designed by master gardener Phil Downs to be a beautiful, intensive vegetable garden for the community. His goal was to have the garden bloom all season and be an example of a very attractive garden that can be replicated throughout the city of Flint.

Great turnout for the Veggie Garden Seminar!! Community involvement is great.
Hello from Northern Michigan. I was at a Land Bank meeting in Traverse City Tuesday and decided to look it up on the net and found this great garden blog. We started a Community Garden as part of our poverty reduction initiative. We had great participation and support. Looking forward to doing it again next year...hopefully ours will look as weed free as this next time... We were lucky enough to have many flats of heirloom tomato and eggplant starts donated and what a joy it was to see all the different colors and shapes. I'll watch for your news next season.
